Did you know that even the extroverts only spend time with the people they love?
Extroverts are rewarded by connecting with people, so it makes sense to make friends quickly. But it only works if the people they connect with reward them (“good vibes only”). They know consciously or subconsciously to avoid people who drain their energy (“bad vibes”). They have a system to quickly screen people based on their vibes. If you vibe with them, you are the “in crowd,” or otherwise you’re out.
In that sense, extroverts are really not that different from introverts. Introverts are just people who haven’t found people whom they vibe with. Once they do, they become extroverts with these people.
Regardless whether you are an extrovert or an introvert, it’s only through the power and grace of God that we are able to love those who do not vibe with us (“love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”–Matthew 5:44). Many people in the church will not necessarily vibe with everyone else, but they are still our brothers and sisters in Christ (“just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another”–John 13:34-35). We must “show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ” (James 2:1-5) by favoring the rich and neglect the poor, especially that God had chosen the poor to inherit the kingdom of heaven (Beatitudes in Matthew 5).
We must ask God to help us love them as God has loved them, and we cannot do this with our own abilities alone.
