If Jesus appears to you, how do you know if it is really Jesus? There are many imposters:
“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.” (Matthew 24:23-24)
There are a few verses in the scripture that tell you what to look for.
Isaiah 53 describes the Messiah “like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him.”
John 20:24-29 describes how the disciple Thomas recognized Jesus, by holding his hands and looking for the mark of the nails.
Revelation 1:9-20 describes the son of man “clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, …”
Revelation did not say that Jesus came in a white robe, but “a long robe with a golden sash around his chest.” Only the servants of Christ wear white robes: ones from Sardis (3:5), church of Laodicea (3:18), the martyrs slain for the word of God (6:11), and the worshippers after the tribulation (7:9).
Jesus’ hair looks like white wool. This is what wool looks like:

If whoever appears to you is handsome, has plump or muscular physique, has blonde hair, blue eyes, white skin, or his hands are missing the mark of nail from being crucified, then it is not Jesus.
